Run by Adarsha Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Rajura, Prabhakarrao Mamulkar Mahavidyalaya (formerly ‘Kala Mahavidyalaya’) came into being in 1994 vide Maharashtra Government Order NGC 2594/7356/M.S/3/HTE&E.O, dated 29 Aug, 1994. The motivating factor behind the establishment of the college was to provide quality higher education to the economically challenged tribals and other marginalized classes of people of the areas in and around Korpana. The college is permanently affiliated to RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, and Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. The college is a mono-faculty (Arts) college with regular B.A in five subjects – English Literature, Marathi Literature, Economics, History and Sociology.

With its commodious building, the institution provides ample infrastructural facilities for classrooms, reading rooms, gymnasium, Smart Room, Computer Centre, rooms for the Library, the NSS, Conference Hall, Ladies Common Room, etc. The college has a fairly large playground, canteen facility, vehicle parking facility, and centres/cells for career guidance, population education, women studies, IQAC C, and facilities for sports and cultural activities. The classrooms are well-equipped and ICT-enabled with LCD projectors in four classrooms. The college auditorium is well-furnished with tables and chairs, LCD Projector, and other facilities. Curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are harmoniously blended. The institution thus ensures good student support through its fine teaching learning activities and the aforesaid facilities.
Our chief source of inspiration is the late Shri. Prabhakarrao Mamulkar (Ex-M. L. A. of Rajura constituency) who was the founder of the institution.
The college campus has a spacious playground of 2.5 acres with herbaceous borders and lush green vegetation.
